Well, school finished on Wednesday which can only mean one think: holidays! I go back to school on the 9th of January, which is a decent holiday I suppose. It would haven been nicer for the holiday to be slightly longer, but what can you do?

We went to the airport this morning (about 8am) to pick up my aunt and uncle who were flying in from the US. They live in North Carolina, and have come across to spend Christmas with us, which I have been looking forward to for weeks! It’s going to make the holiday much, much more enjoyable, which is awesome.

On the 28th of this month, I’ll be heading off to a music course (what a strange thing to do! I hear you cry). Well, yes – quite. It’s the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, which is very prestigious and so is quite special. The course is from the 28th December to the 4th January, with New Year concerts on the 3rd Jan. in the Usher Hall, Edinburgh and on the 4th Jan. in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, which will both be so good. There will be a formal ceilidh on Hogmanay which will also be really good fun.

One of the downside of the holidays is that I have quite a lot of work to do. I have to write a 5000 word dissertation for Modern Studies for the first week I go back to school, as well as two Economics essays, as well as general revision for my mock exams in late January. Sigh. I must get into a revising mood – over the years I have generally relied on my ability to be reasonably intelligent (no bragging intended) but this year, due to the difficulty of the exams, I shall have to work much harder to obtain good grades. Of course, technically I don’t need high grades, because the course which I am applying to (Joint Honours in Computing & Economics) requires a minimum of 4 ‘Bs’ and since I got 4 ‘As’ and 1 ‘B’, I don’t think that that, coupled with my personal statement will be a problem for me to get into university *hopes*.

I’m really quite tired, so I shall retire for the night. Thank you for reading my ramblings thus far, and goodnight.

I use to own the domain silenceiseasy.com, but in all honesty got bored of the whole website thing, and so did not renew the domain when it expired in October. However, as the months passed, I found that I was gaining separation anxiety from my blog (well, not really that extreme, but I did enjoy blogging, when I got round to it) and so, I decided to start a simple weblog.

I think that one of the reasons why I didn’t blog that often when I had my website was because I was always bogged down with layout coding and site content etc., and so having just a blog should be bliss.

I shall be blogging more often, I hope and so for the time being, good evening.
